GOODNIGHT MOMMY (2014) — Sleeper Awakened

Debated 6+, but I remember the intensity, the intrigue, and the non-Hollywood non-pussing out at the end and decided to give it the nod. I don't always have to be the hater (though many of you who see this might be).

Many people will probably be upset with plot point towards the film's finale. True, it is not the most original, but I didn't prognosticate that conclusion (granted, I never do). Despite that, the general sense of creepiness and unease was quite effective. What it lacked in breadth of plot and range of acting, it made up for in staging, atmosphere, well crafted shots, and genuine absorption.

I don't think this was as good as recent horror conquests like The Babadook or It Follows, but it was close despite the inevitable backlash it will endure if people see it. (Sorry for vagueness. This is a film to be seen without getting into spoilers. But talking about it without them is mighty problematic.)
