THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2 (2015)

November 26, 2015 by Jacob Nelson in 2015, 5, ACTION, DRAMA, H, SCIENCE FICTION

11/26/2015 - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 - 5+/10

A satisfactory but altogether average finale to the series. Having read the books, I knew the beats and had come to peace with the ending, so I had little to rail against or be displeased with that.

I would say that the film on a whole is uneven and tonally shifty. During the "invasion/chase" there was plenty of excitement and well-done action, but there are many logic problems with the characters/story and clumsiness in the plot.

That said, it was still enjoyable in its fullness. Nowhere near the best of the series, but certainly not as bad as the various other movie sequels/post-apocalyptic teen dramas. Mostly, the film didn't fire me up to having any real strong feelings either way. Decent and average, nothing more.
