A WAR (KRIGEN) (2015)

February 19, 2016 by Jacob Nelson in 2015, 6, DRAMA, FOREIGN, W, WAR, Oscars 2016

2/19/2016 - A War (KRIGEN) (2015) - 6/10

Well made, deftly considered and depicted war drama that felt flat to me. I just had a hard time engaging with the characters and the material.

There is a decent movie here, that I saw the walking talking skeleton of a grippingly intense military quagmire, but none of the guts. One more analogy, because I have no real criticism this time (they can't all be winners!): a smart and sound warscape, but there was an unexploded emotional bomb underfoot.

Check it out. It is important and had a worthy view, just don't expect the extraordinary.
