HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE (2016)

Charming and quirky. There is enough melancholy and heart to make the sly humor as effective as possible. This is not a grandiose comedy, but the sentimentality is sweet and earned.

Never reaches the heights of humor as “What We Do In The Shadows”, but this is a deeper and more complex film. I think this is a better film, from one of the most unique funny filmmakers out there. He brings us different stories with widely varied characters, personas, ethnicities and appearances, delivering richness and individuality.

Waititi has an almost Edgar Wright style, with his rarefied humor and directing style. "Hunt" is another delightful gem, idiosyncratic and wholly palatable for wide audience. Check it out.
