COHERENCE (2013)

November 16, 2016 by Jacob Nelson in 2013, 5, C, DRAMA, SCIENCE FICTION, THRILLER

11/16/2016 - Coherence (2013) – 5/10

An average sci-fi thriller with an intriguing plot core. The set-up of the characters and situation feel somewhat lacking, keeping me from getting fully invested. Missing that building block, the shuffling of characters and story machinations are interesting but lack a sense of import. There is also an extremely unbelievable lack of awe/interest and passion about truly universe altering occurrences.

That all said, it still stands as an enjoyable watch. The relationships, ins & outs, and skittering around the weaving dimensional schema are provocative. A fun dalliance with universal interlopers and alternate timeline guerillas. It just felt like there was more left on the table, emotionally and intellectually, with such a fruitful science fiction concept.
