OTHER PEOPLE (2016)

December 18, 2016 by Jacob Nelson in 2016, 6, COMEDY, DRAMA, O

12/18/2016 - Other People (2016) - 6/10

Sweet and full of a near mumblecore quirk & minimalism. A controlled and believable humor understatedly woven into the fabric of this moving melancholic journey.

Jesse Plemons does an endearing job, while Molly Shannon really lays on the joyousness and depressingly realistic withering of the terminally ill. Very strong performance from her, jerking on those tear ducts. J.J. Totah’s over-the-top showing was a scene stealer. Loved it.

Overall, reasonably well constructed, though a bit bare, dramedy. Moving and funny.
