12/18/19 - Her Smell (2018) - 6+/10

Brilliant, vulnerable and caustic performance by Moss. Well tread path but it is still felt fresh, with her maniacal musician and its manic meltdown move layout. She dominates this film; it is her orchestra to play masterfully. Sweet, salty, and satisfying.

The sound design was smart (if not a tad bit maddening, with levels seemingly being wonky) but it had an eerie and transformative effect on the mood. Felt so unsure because of it and the volatility of this tortured artiste. The excitement had me hooked and on edge.

I thought that the music was a bit disappointing, but the performances and the excitement of each insane scene really etched this one into my like column and my memory. Well worth a watch with one of the best performances of the year.
