HAIL SATAN? (2019)

May 18, 2019 by Jacob Nelson in 2019, 7, DOCUMENTARY, H

5/17/19 - Hail Satan? (2019) - 7-/10

My inner Satanist was delighted with this funtertaining peek behind the black robe. If you are open to it, I can’t see anyone not being tickled and informed by a group so vilely envisioned and poorly understood. I would certainly recommend.

Hail Satan? doesn’t do anything amazingly innovative or extraordinary, but it benefits from killer timing while focusing on a poorly understood subject/group. The key players are interesting and engaging, letting the whole film resonate with humor and cleverness. They also adeptly play their parts in developing the larger narrative which is the creation and embattled nature of the Satanic Temple.

A highly enjoyable doc exploring the reasonable and unreasonable in the extremes of belief, practice, and the condoned. Exposing the hypocrisy and the struggle to fight it, while providing light and fun viewpoint. Well worth a watch.
