APOLLO 11 (2019)

December 16, 2019 by Jacob Nelson in 2019, 8, A, DOCUMENTARY

8/11/19 - Apollo 11 (2019) - 8+/10

An extraordinary tale of human achievement expertly conveyed, with its vibrant and varied footage. So crisp and smartly woven together. The editing and construction, the ticking clocks and speedometers, along with the marvelous graphic elements all were tremendously accomplished. This is a brilliant documentary film breathing new life into well known history.

The human personal moments of the montage of family photos or the friendly dialogues during downtime’s made the drama more powerful and poignant. It also says something that with the clever dramatic music usage and the cutting together of the space and ground footage had me feeling the danger and excitement, despite knowing the outcome so well. Great documentary film-making. A must see.
