8/7/21 - 2025: The World Enslaved By A Virus (2021) - 1/10
Are you ready for the film that is going to break the mold and blow the lid off the Christian repression and COVID subjugation that is plaguing the world; are you ready to revolt with silent prayer for the proliferation and power of Jesus the Christ? I guess that if you truly buy into a “War on Christians” or some kind of New World Order developing utilizing the oppressive power of this virus that has changed our lives and sadly taken so much - if you are more afraid of Bibles being burned than vaccines and face masks, then this collection of moving pictures may have some kind of righteous & soothing message. For the rest of humanity, avoid this sanctimonious sub-high school theater troupe tripe like the plague. Though, unlike the virus that has stolen lives, livelihoods, and social links, you can avoid this cinematic infection; just don’t watch. It’s better for your health.
There is absolutely no ‘juice’ to this milquetoast propaganda, which is what this is. It doesn’t even try to reasonably portray a story or narrative beyond “government bad...hates God...virus give chance to take away rights..”. It’s asinine in its heart and doltish on its face. Every element is beyond amateurish. B,C, and D-movies at least work as films, unlike this mindless droning 92 minutes.
The direction is so vacuous and tedious. As much music videos/montages as anything. Makes one wonder if they had seen films before. The script is the kind of writing that makes me feel useless & a failure. If this dreck can get funded, filmed and have fanfare, what am I doing? Unimaginative and cringey drivel oozing out of lifeless near mannequins. The acting is so wooden… actually, what is worse than wooden. Stolid metal? Soiled fired clay? Festering scuzzy stone? These German speaking actors are put out to sea with secondary English come off as Tommy Wiseau without the charisma nor comedy. They are paired with the few native English speaking actors who make Greg Sestero appear as Marlon Brando. With the accents and terribleness, it reminds one of the Room, but in the same way week old gas station sushi reminds one of a 3 star Michelin chef.
It is nauseating evangelism and ignorant anxiety fomenting in the guise of atrocious artwork. The worst film of the year thus far.
