1/29/2020 - The Cave (2019) - 6/10

Honestly, I was just never in the right mindset to ingest this film. I recognize that it was pretty good, but, and especially against its Oscar brethren For Sama, it never gripped my barren nothingness in my chest. There was a lack of connection with the few individuals we are meant to identify with. There was also a slickness to the beginning that didn’t quite work with the overall tone and style, with animatics and editing choices.

It is a worthy and insightful peer into some atrocious human horrors. It is good, but it didn’t really do it for me beyond a basic knowledge of its quality.
