SAINT FRANCES (2020)

June 01, 2020 by Jacob Nelson in 2020, 7, COMEDY, DRAMA, S

5/16/20 - Saint Frances (2020) - 7/10

Feminist, funny, open and honest. Felt real & exposed while being extremely sweet and moving. Poignant, on so many levels (spiritually, mental health, love, judgment, etc.). Similar to Eighth Grade from a couple years back, it is charming without being cloying and extremely identifiable but retaining its enjoyability. Another welcome contemporary voice on subjects well-trod but not well worn. This one has depth, but is light enough not to overwhelm - deserves a watch.
