11/6/22 - Prey for the Devil (2022) - 3+/10

A woman empowered Exorcist film that eschewed any set-up or preamble and just dives right in to fighting demons inhabiting human bodies. Honestly, there isn’t anything in here you haven’t seen done better. It does give ample time to “priests vs. demons” battles, as our young & guilt tortured nun protagonist becomes the 1st woman to be taught to exorcize at the Vatican Battle Academy so that she may face the demon that has terrorized her for her entire life. This life vendetta is trite and a little dumb, but whatcha gonna do? Plenty of bone breaking bendy times and blackened eyes, but not much drama.

Colin Salmon is a gem and Virginia Madsen pops her head in, but not much pops story, effects, or franchise wise.
