BLUE MOON (2025)

In a film that will probably not get seen nor appreciated the way it deserves, Ethan Hawke kills it with his portrayal of Lorenz Hart. The humor, the heart, and the ability to monologue that hooks the viewer and reals them into the story & emotion of the moment - he was so damn good.
It’s a nostalgic film, feeling like an insight into an older time of Hollywood/entertainment. It’s probably the best Linklater film in a while, though I haven’t gotten to Nouvelle Vague yet. It’s a fabulous mostly one man show that lets the scenery, the time specific people, and the wistful romanticism of Hawke’s portrayal take center stage and lift off.
Scott also did a fine job as Rogers and Qualley naturally shined as the apple of everyone’s eye. It was a delightful surprise and worthy of anyone’s time.
