GOLDA (2023)

September 01, 2024 by Jacob Nelson in 2023, 4, DRAMA, G, BIOGRAPHY, Oscars 2024, WAR

3/3/24 - Golda (2023) - 4+/10

This isn’t an altogether bad film, it is just a bit murky and bogged down by the events and politics it surrounds. If you don’t know much about the Yom Kippur War, the parties involved, or the history preceding it, you will be out to sea without a life preserver. Mirren does a pretty good job, the makeup is good, and the intensity of the conflict with its effect on Golda is well shown, but the pacing was spotty and the film was more for those already ingrained in the situation/history.
