TRAIN DREAMS (2025)
10/11/25 - Train Dreams (2025) - 7/10
Forlorn and soulful - a picture painted with green verve, tree bark sorrow, and steely solemnity. It’s dreamy with magnificent direction and cinematography to live for.
Slice of life, hazily reticent cabincore - quietly letting the journey, its colors and the colorful stoke the engine of suffering, enlightenment and the ponderings of the existential. Internalizing rather than externalizing all the wrongs and injustices intrinsic, for the mistakes are the stains on the vestments that make it worth wearing.
Edgerton is sentimentally serene, but never aloof. His face and feelings become one with your grasping heart. I fear it might not get seen but if promoted, could be award worthy.
Beautiful and endearing - for me, a perfect ‘grandpa film’.
